May The Cereal Be With You

It’s May the Fourth, Star Wars Day! A day that I sincerely hope is well on its way to becoming an international holiday filled with peace, love, and light saber duels.

Star WarsOn this day, while you watch The Empire Strikes Back for the 37th time, pour yourself a big bowl of cereal as a snack and munch away.

Because hidden inside each box of specially marked General Mills cereal, you will find one of six timeless movie posters featuring your favorite Star Wars films!

Fans can collect all six classic posters in each participating brand of cereal, including Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Honey Nut Cheerios, Trix, Cookie Crisp and Reese’s Puffs. The specially marked boxes of Big G cereals hit store shelves this month, for a limited time only.

This brings back some vintage memories from my childhood, when the very first Star Wars prize was hidden away in General Mills cereal boxes. Take a look at this box of Boo Berry from 1978. I had dozens of these Star Wars stickers, and I stuck them on everything. If I’d only known that eBay would arrive in a few short decades.

  1. When Leia realizes that luke is her brother. The scene in the trash compacter and Leia and Han go at it. And I look when Vader tells Luke he is his father. You know what is funny. I just found your blog and I at the same time I see this giveaway for Star Wars and I am watching it right now. All these new youtube trailers of the new movie made us pull them out and watch it!

  2. Cereal and Star Wars sounds like a force to be reckoned with. R2D2 will always be a favorite. I’m pretty sure my wife’s lifelong love of Harrison Ford also began with Star Wars.
