On the heels of my recent CD contest, I have another review and giveaway for you.
Brooks Hansen’s The Brotherhood of Joseph is a touching, but humorous, memoir of a dad’s journey through the frustration of infertility and adoption.
Hansen has previously written five novels, but this time captures the real life emotional turmoil that he and his wife endured as they tried to conceive, then embarked on the bewildering world of adoption.
It’s a fascinating book, which should be essential reading for anyone facing the same kind of issues. Really, any parent should find it to be a compelling story. Even in the midst of heartbreak and anger, Hansen writes with such a quiet, reflective humor that you can’t help but smile.
Leave a comment on this post, telling me you want to win the book. I’ll pick a winner next week.
Watch for another book giveaway tomorrow. And don’t forget to enter my current children’s CD contest.

I was adopted myself, so this book I think I can identify with. My parents told me growing up how painful it was to not be able to have kids (that’s why I was adopted) but how adopting was so great (they’d have to say that to me, right
Anyway. I could read that.

I went through some of this stuff before adopting my 3 year old. I’ve been reading your blog for years, maybe 5? Would like to read this book!
