The New Look Family

by Idaho Dad on February 8, 2010

This is the first post on my new “home” here on WordPress.

How do you like the new look?  Same website, different framework.

It reminds me of when we moved into our new house and just had a few pieces of furniture set into place.  Most of the rest of our stuff was in the garage.

Over the next few weeks I’ll be “unpacking boxes” and seeing what fits where, especially over on those sidebars.

You’ll see that my blogroll is incomplete.  I’ll be adding mom and dad blogs, so if you don’t see yours by the end of February just send an email letting me know you’d like to be on my list.  Basically, if you read my blog, I’ll read yours.

Thanks!

I really like that picture. So very curious to see where that road goes.

Ah, the pictures change each time the page is viewed. But you probably meant the trail through the woods? That’s a popular hiking trail, Tubbs Hill, here in North Idaho.

Thanks Evan. I kind of like seeing my pictures up there too. Brings back memories. I’ll eventually have several hundred photos rotating in that spot, so you never know what might appear.

Liking the new look. Was the conversion painful?

Setting up the blog on WordPress was relatively easy. They made it simple to convert my Blogger posts and comments.

What was difficult, and headache-inducing, was getting the WordPress framework to inhabit the same URL as my previous blog. But I finally figured it out after reading a dozen or so tutorials about coding. I really did not want to change the URL for my homepage, so that was a success.

The only sad thing is that my old feeds are not following me. I hope most of my feed readers make the change. So far, 63 out of 188 have changed their feed links.

Looks good – I’m taking the whole thing pretty slow. Because I’m lazy.

Glad to see it can happen.

Looks great! I like the big font size. Makes it easy to read.

Looks great! It’s quite clean, uncluttered and stylish. Very good choice.
